This is your classic soothing massage. This massage uses long gliding strokes to increase circulation and induce relaxation. It will also help to decrease muscle toxins, improve flexibility while easing tension.
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense - however "no pain no gain" is NOT the goal with this massage! It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots.
Sports massage is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world class professionals to weekend warriors. The massage focuses on a specific group of muscles associated with the athletes' sport. This massage uses a lot of stretching techniques that promote flexibility, remove fatigue, improve endurance, help prevent injuries, and prepare them to compete at their absolute best.
Lymphatic drainage uses a very light pressure with gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body. There are lymph vessels, much like your blood vessels, that run through your body. The lymph system is part of your body's immune system and helps fight infection. Lymph itself is a clear, slightly yellow fluid. It transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and flushing them out through the lymph nodes. Unlike blood, which is pumped around by your heart, the lymph system has no pump. The pressure from your blood vessels and movement from your muscles push the lymphatic fluid around. Sometimes the system needs a little help, thus lymphatic drainage massage.
Aromatherapy is use of the highest grade essential oils either in combination with your lotion, or applied directly to your skin during any type of massage. Not only does it smell fantastic, but there are healing properties of the essential oils that will aide in greater relaxation and with your therapeutic relief. There is no additional charge for Aromatherapy during your treatment.
It is important to consult with a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist before purchasing and using oils because it is difficult to find medicinal-grade oils in health food stores in this country. Therapeutically pure essential oils can help support various body systems, such as the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal, digestive, and integumentary (skin) systems. As a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, I can help guide you in choosing good quality essential oils, and knowing which ones would best help your specific needs on a chemical level.
This massage uses sleek heated basalt stones. The therapist uses the heated stones in place of their hands, allowing the smooth weight and heat of the rocks to easily and luxuriously melt tension in muscle tissue like butter. With long gliding strokes of warmth it is a deeply soothing and relaxing form of massage. This can be used in combination with Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage techniques. There is no additional charge for Hot Stone.
